Die Zusammenarbeit zwischen Buchhaltung und Controlling funktioniert oftmals nicht so reibungslos, wie es sollte. So werden noch immer Abschlussarbeiten in einem Abschlussplan außerhalb des SAP® -Systems, zum Beispiel in Microsoft Excel erstellt. Auch ist es keine Seltenheit, dass einzelne Fachbereiche im internen und externen Rechnungswesen eigene Abschlusspläne für ihre jeweiligen themenspezifischen Abschlussaufgaben erstellen. Ein Abschlussplan definiert Aufgaben und Verantwortlichkeiten sowie den Zeitpunkt der Durchführung “ durchgeplant auf Tagesbasis; in großen Unternehmen sogar auf Stundenbasis. Unter diesen Gesichtspunkten lässt sich leicht erkennen, welcher Abstimmungsaufwand von den Unternehmen betrieben werden muss, um die Abschlussarbeiten in der richtigen Reihenfolge zeitgetreu und vollständig durchzuführen.
The cooperation between accounting and controlling does not work as smoothly as it should. For example, closing activities are still prepared in specific closing schedules maintained outside the SAP® system, e.g., in Microsoft Excel. It is also not uncommon for functional departments in Financial Accounting and Controlling to create their closing schedules for their respective topic-specific closing tasks. A closing schedule defines tasks and responsibilities and the time of execution – in large companies on a daily basis, in some also on an hourly basis. From this point of view, it is not difficult to see the coordination effort that companies need to carry out the closing tasks in the correct order, in a timely and complete manner.
Viele Abschlusspläne sind mit der Zeit durch strukturelle Änderungen im Unternehmen, wie zum Beispiel durch Verschmelzungen, Carve-Outs oder sogar neue Geschäftsmodelle komplexer geworden und erzeugen aufgrund des geringen Automatisierungsgrades im Finanzabschluss eine suboptimale Durchführung.
